Adriana Ortiz

Vice-President

Adriana Ortiz was born and raised in Guanajuato, Mexico. Adriana and her family emigrated to the United States in the Spring of 1997 at age fifteen. Adriana was raised by both of her parents and lived her teenage years in Carpentersville, Illinois. Adriana is a first-generation college graduate with an Associate Degree in Human Services and is working on her undergraduate in Organizational Leadership at Columbia College of Missouri.

Adriana has lived in Lake County for eighteen years and considers this county her home. Adriana is married and has three beautiful children. Adriana’s family plays a vital part in her life. Adriana finds balance in her family and professional life by taking family vacations when possible and always looking for opportunities to spend time with her family. Adriana and her family love family road trips and have made remarkable memories.

Adriana is employed through Zion Township, a local government agency in Zion, Illinois, and has 10+ years of experience in social services. This job is where she discovered her passion for helping others. Adriana is currently in a leadership role and leads her department. Adriana’s strength is building and maintaining solid relationships with others. Adriana administers the operation of the township programs, including procedures, implementation, and execution of new and temporary programs. She provides the strategic planning, implementation management, and ongoing evaluation of programs and services. One of Adriana’s passions is to work and interact with youth, and she has the opportunity to lead the Youth Summer Work Program. In 2018 Adriana was honored for her continued coordination and dedication to the Zion Township Summer Work Program.

Adriana is a Zion-Benton Leadership Academy and a Mano a Mano Liderazgo graduate. She served as a Charmm’d Foundation Advisory Board Member. Adriana has received coaching, mentoring, and services from the Charmm’d Foundation. The Charmm’d Foundation has been part of her leadership growth. This association has strengthened her leadership skills, expanded her networking and relationships with other leaders, and helped her grow in her career.

Adriana brings leadership, management, critical thinking, relationship building, and project management skills to the Coalicion. Adrianas has served at the Coalicion Latinos Unidos de Lake since 2021 and has held the positions of Public Relations Director and Treasurer and is currently serving as the Vice-President. She is honored to be part of such an incredible group of Latino leaders.
