2026 SCHOLARSHIP

The application period for the 2026 CLULC Scholarship is now OPEN!

OVERVIEW

The Coalición Latinos Unidos de Lake County (CLULC) offers scholarships to students pursuing higher education (certificate, associate’s, bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral program) at an accredited college or university during the 2026-2027 academic year. Applicants will be evaluated in the following areas.

  • Academic Record
  • Financial Need
  • Service to the Community
  • Extracurricular Activities
  • Letters of Recommendation
  • Essay Response

ELIGIBILITY

To qualify, applicants must:

  • Be a high school senior, undergraduate, or graduate student
  • Reside in Lake County
  • Maintain a cumulative unweighted GPA of at least 2.5 (on a 4.0 scale)
  • Have participated in community/volunteer activities
  • Demonstrate financial need
  • Be accepted into or currently attending an accredited college/university
  • Submit a completed application with all required documents

HOW TO APPLY

Step 1: Fill out the CLULC Scholarship Google Form Application here.
Step 2: Upload the following documents directly through the form:

  • Official transcripts (high school if currently in high school, college if already attending).
  • Proof of admission to your chosen school.
  • Two (2) letters of recommendation (must be from non-relatives, on official letterhead, with an original signature, and not exceed one page).
  • 500 to 750-word essay (typed and double-spaced).
  • Short bio and photo (for promotional purposes).

 

It is the applicant’s responsibility to ensure all required documents are submitted on time. Incomplete or late applications will NOT be considered. Applicants will NOT be notified about missing documents.

This application contains EIGHT (8) sections. All sections must be completed to be considered.

DEADLINE: May 30, 2026 by 10PM

HOW WE REVIEW

  • A selection committee, comprised of CLULC Board members, will review the scholarship applications.
  • We will utilize a holistic review process, giving careful consideration to all credentials presented by the applicant.
  • The committee will apply the included rubric to qualify the applicants.
  • The highest-scoring students will be awarded scholarships.
  • The winners will be officially notified by the CLULC President.
  • The Scholarship award will be sent directly to the school of the student’s choice.
  • Winners will be required to submit a photograph and short biography to be posted on CLULC’s website.
  • Students who don’t qualify for the scholarship will be given a list of other potential scholarships.
  • Incomplete applications will not be considered, and the applicant will not be notified about missing documents.

SCHOLARSHIP POLICIES

  • The Coalición Latinos Unidos de Lake County awards scholarships to Lake County students who are pursuing their education in an accredited college or university.
  • All scholarship recipients will be invited and expected to attend the CLULC Gala event following the award to be recognized, or arrange for a representative to attend in their place. If a Gala is not planned for that year, students will be required to attend an awards ceremony, or arrange a representative to attend in their place.
  • Winners are required to submit a photograph and short biography to be posted on CLULC’s website.
  • The full scholarship amount shall be paid directly to the bursar/financial aid office of the school the student is attending and will be applied towards tuition and fees.
