Luis Fuentes
President
Luis Fuentes, born in Mexico, migrated to the United States in 1986 with his new wife to start their life in the suburbs of Chicago. He received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Metallurgy from the Technical Institute and Services in Mexico in 1985. Since then he has been an active member of the community of Mundelein. He has served as a School Board Member for Mundelein School District 75 from 2005 to 2008. He is the current President of Mundelein High School’s Universidad de Padres, he co-founded the Mundelein Latino Police Academy, he is an active planning committee member of the Taste of College in Mundelein, Familias en Educacion, and the Lake County FAFSA Campaign in Grayslake. Luis is also on the Board of Directors of the University Center of Lake County. In 2015, he received the Distinguished Award of Excellence, INSPRA Illinois Chapter of National School Public Relations Association. He is an entrepreneurial leader with a passion to assist his community also working as a Real Estate Broker with Remax Showcase since 1993.
He is a proud and dedicated family man that brings the life to the party! His wife, Carmen, works for District 73 in Vernon Hills who has recently achieved 25 years of service; they both reside in Mundelein and have been happily married for over 30 years. He has two children, Denisse and Joshua; both living in Vernon Hills. Denisse graduated from Columbia College of Missouri with her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management and Human Resource Management and is currently pursuing her Master’s in Business Administration at North Park University. Joshua earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Web Design and Interactive Media from the Illinois Art Institute of Chicago. The family volunteers at numerous events that Luis is a part of together throughout Mundelein and Lake County.
